I once heard an art show juror explain her method of choosing the best in show: her first step eliminate any paintings with old barns or old cars. But I love the old barns on the Laguna property! So I decided to focus on the architectural elements in the barns: a broken window, part of a tractor against the barn wood,an unused barn door, and a bird cut from the same metal used on the roof.
I focused on the lines and angles in this view of the barn. The broken window humanizes this architectural view.
Watercolor, 22 by 26 inches, with a dark wood frame. $385 SOLD
